The new Ready2Go driving simulator developed by IKON presented to ACI management
The future of driving schools comes from Friuli Venezia Giulia.
IKON has developed a revolutionary driving simulator that will allow students of ACI “Ready2Go” driving schools — over 200 across Italy — to learn how to drive safely before facing real roads and traffic conditions.
At the heart of the system lies software that, through a VR (Virtual Reality) headset, enables a 360° driving simulation. Students can experience a fully immersive and highly realistic driving environment.
The effectiveness of the simulation is further enhanced by the physical cockpit, also designed and built by IKON. Every component has been conceived to make the driving experience as realistic as possible: the simulator station features all the controls and adjustments of a real vehicle — from the steering wheel to the gearbox and even the seat belt.
“This is the first virtual reality driving simulator specifically designed for driving schools,” said Enrico Degrassi, Founder and CEO of IKON. “It allows for an extremely accurate simulation of vehicle physics in all driving conditions. The software is built on the 3D Unreal Engine graphics platform — a long-standing reference in the gaming industry — which we have adapted to meet the educational needs of driving schools. With such a high-performance engine, we can deliver a top-level visual experience that is fully immersive and realistic, across different scenarios — from urban and highway tracks to the Safe Driving Center in Vallelunga — including variable conditions such as day or night driving and challenging weather, like fog.”
